Jack's Story

My name is Jack, and when I was 21 years old, I didn’t have a big woodworking shop or expensive tools. All I had was my father’s old garage, a worn-out workbench, and a second hand saw I bought with my very first paycheck.

Every evening after work, I’d head into that little garage and spend hours building, making mistakes, and starting over. The first project I ever completed was a simple wooden shelf for my mom. It wasn’t perfect, but it taught me that an ordinary piece of wood could become something meaningful for the people you love.

As the years passed, my skills grew with every project. Every mistake became a lesson, and every finished piece gave me the confidence to build something even better.

Now, after more than 40 years of woodworking, I’ve gathered the very best plans, techniques, and lessons I’ve learned into one complete collection so anyone, whether a beginner or an experienced builder, can create beautiful furniture with confidence.

Every expert starts somewhere. Mine started in a small garage with a big dream.

Why I Put All These Projects Into One Book

For more than forty years, no project was ever just another piece of wood to me. Every build carries a chapter of my life my marriage, the birth of my children, family celebrations, and the ordinary days that have become my most treasured memories.

That’s why I gathered my best plans, techniques, and everything I’ve learned into one book, so you can build something that will stay with your own family for years to come.

One day, your children won’t remember how much you paid for the furniture… but they’ll always remember that you built it with your own hands.
